It was a sunny spring day and the scent of freshly baked cake was in the air. It was Justin’s birthday and his dad was hosting a party on the family’s sail boat. “That cake smells delicious!” Justin exclaimed “Can I have a piece?”
“Yep” Dad said bringing out the cake. It was pale white with red stripes.
“Do you want to go to the shop, there’s a sale on toy cars” mum asked.
“Sure” Justin said “I have birthday money! I’ll just grab my cell phone”
“They’re going to go broke giving you all their money!” mum laughed as she tripped over the pail and nearly fell in the water.
“I hope they’ll sell me the one on display, it’s my favourite. I saw it in the junk mail they sent and its only 50 cents.”
